Matu Buiatti is an Argentine visual artist and photographer based in Buenos Aires. His work explores intimacy, desire, vulnerability, the body and the fragile forms of trust that appear between people.

Working mainly with analog photography and without digital retouching, his images are created through conversation, time spent together and shared presence. For Buiatti, the image is not the starting point, but the consequence of an encounter.

His recent photobook LA ISLA was developed over eighteen months with people he did not know before the project began, using the body, nature and intimacy as ways to question how we connect, expose ourselves and remain human.
