Dany Dee

Dany Dee is an openly gay illustrator specializing in digital art.
He was born in Russia, in St. Petersburg. Since childhood, he had a special passion for drawing, and studying at an art school helped to develop these abilities. There he studied at the university in the direction of media design, but difficult life circumstances did not allow him to develop in the profession. Therefore, for the whole 15 years, the love of visual art was shelved. The beginning of the pandemic contributed to the return to drawing. Being quarantined, Dany discovered the world of comics and digital drawing.
The first works are an autobiographical story in the genre of a casual webcomic. In the process, with the growth of the audience, interest came to the study of the beauty of the human body and, in particular, male. This was the beginning of a separate large series of graphic, and then color portraits in the genre of "Nude". Later it became the main theme of creativity.
But the deterioration of the political situation in the country aggravated the creative process, and the beginning of the war in Ukraine became a serious turning point.
The loss of a significant part of the audience in view of Russia's aggressive, xenophobic and isolationist policies, as well as the economic crisis, pushed for difficult but necessary decisions. Being a pacifist and an opponent of the regime, Dany decided to flee the country, and since May 2022 has been living in Spain as a refugee. But nevertheless, all the difficulties only spurred the creative process.
And at the moment, constant experiments with colors, style and techniques are continuing. And there are already plans to return to the industry of comics.
