Mich hat der Begriff “Intersektion” beschäftigt. Aktuell wird er viel im Kontext von Exklusion, Benachteiligung und Stigmatisierung verwendet. Aber im Kern beschreibt er doch ein Aufeinandertreffen und sogar eine Wegkreuzung; also auch immer die Frage, wohin als nächstes. In dem Versuch 4×4 kleinformatige abstrakte Bilder aufeinandertreffen zu lassen entstehen immer neue Blickwege zwischen den quadratischen Bildern und eine unendliche Möglichkeit von Intersektionen innerhalb der oft diffusen Farbflächen. Es geht um das Zusammenspiel von klaren Grenzen und der Künstlichkeit dieser Grenzen.
I have contemplated on the term “intersection”. Currently, it is used a lot in the context of societal exclusion, disadvantage and stigmatization. But at its core it describes a meeting and even a crossing of paths. Thus, it always touches upon the question of where to go next. In this piece the 4×4 small formated abstract paintings allow for observers to let their gaze wonder to an fro. The eyes find new paths for looking between the square images each time. Simultaneously, an infinite possibility of intersections opens up within the diffuse color surfaces of each panel. It is about the interplay of clear boundaries and the artificiality of the human need to create boundaries in order to make sense of the world.
