Nadina Helen Bakos / DinaBaz

I am a native Norwegian from a family of farmers. As the oldest child, I was expected to become a farmer like my ancestors. But when I bought my first plastic pocket camera at the age of twelve, I knew I would become a photographer. My parents thought I was crazy. They didn’t know any artists and were sure I would starve to death like so many other artists before me. They tried to change my mind, I knew that everything except being an artist would make my life miserable.
I moved to Oslo when I was old enough and studied photography for 4 years. School was like a huge playing ground to me where I could create stories, new worlds, and experiment with colors, costumes, and identities. I call myself a storyteller and the camera is my tool. I look for synchronicities in lives lived, footprints left, things we surround ourselves with, and relationships between people.
