Michael Childers

Michael Childers (*1944) has been a renowned and highly respected film, dance, and theater photographer for 40 years. Since 1996, he has been working solely with fine art photography and on book projects.

He was a founding photographer for Andy Warhol’s magazines INTERVIEW and AFTER DARK; and produced dance magazine covers featuring the Joffrey Ballet, The Royal Ballet, also the Alvin Ailey Dance Company.

From his LA studios, Michael photographed 200+ magazine covers including GQ, New York, TV Guide, Esquire, Los Angeles, Elle, Paris Match, Life, London Sunday Times Magazine, and English and Italian Vogue. He created 150+ album covers and film posters for major studios and worked as a photographer on many films.

Since 2013, Sir Michael Childers is residing in Palm Springs, California.
