Description
The painting was created in Berlin one year after the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. This piece shows that feelings and passion have no boundaries when they are genuine. With this work, I also want to highlight the importance of equal rights for all people. In this painting, one man is a well-known Ukrainian soldier defending my homeland from invaders. Sadly, LGBTQ+ individuals in Ukraine still lack the right to legalize their relationships, a need that has become even more urgent in wartime. Through this painting, I’m expressing that laws, like feelings, should be accessible to each of us—especially when we need them so deeply.
Painted in watercolor, it conveys the passion and fluidity of emotions. Framed with a mat board, it enhances the expressiveness of the artwork.
